Request a commercial property insurance quote
Send the property type, the state and the insured value band. A licensed broker reads the request and replies with what your class and state need.
What happens after you send it
A request for a commercial property insurance quote is stored with us first and emailed to a licensed broker second, so a mail outage cannot lose it. The broker reads it the same business day, against the class and the state you chose, and the reply asks only for the documents that matter for that combination. A hotel on the Gulf Coast and a car wash in Colorado call for different files, and nobody should be asked for paperwork their property does not need.
Four answers on the form do most of the sorting. The class and the state decide which markets can be approached at all, the value band decides how large a share of a building each carrier can take, and the renewal date decides how much time there is to work with. A request with all four lets the first reply be specific rather than a general list of questions.
The three stages below are the short version. The full sequence, from a first document to a bound policy, is set out on the page that walks through each placement step.
You send the request
The form on this page, plus the declarations page and a schedule if you have them to hand. The form alone is enough to start.
A broker builds the submission
A licensed broker reads it, asks for what the class and state call for, and sets the file out the way an underwriter reads it.
Markets respond
You see every quote that comes back, including the ones we do not recommend.
What to have ready
You do not need anything beyond the form to send it. If you have them, the documents that move a quote along fastest are:
- the current declarations page and its endorsements, which show the limits, deductibles and exclusions you carry today;
- a schedule of values with replacement cost for each building, listed separately;
- roof age and covering for each building, since in hail and wind states the roof can decide whether a building is quotable at all;
- five years of loss runs, with a line of context on any large or open claim.
Timing matters as much as paperwork. A request that arrives 90 to 120 days before the renewal date gives underwriters room to ask questions, and gives a hard-to-place building time to reach every market that might write it. Inside 60 days the work still goes ahead, with fewer markets able to respond properly, so put the date in the renewal field and the broker sees it first.
For a financed property, the insurance section of the loan agreement is worth adding, so the options can be checked against the lender's terms before anything is signed. Each state guide lists the extra items its perils and regulator call for; the directory of state property guides will point you to yours.
Property classes we place
The firm places commercial property for eight classes of owner. Each class has its own guide covering the exposures underwriters price, the coverage the class usually needs and the documents that support a submission. If your property fits one of them, choose it in the form. If it fits none, choose Other commercial property; a broker will ask about the building in the reply.
An owner with buildings in more than one class, such as a portfolio that holds apartments beside a self-managed condo association, can choose the class of the largest building and mention the rest once the conversation starts.
Coverage lines we arrange
Most requests start with the building, but a program is rarely one policy. General liability, workers compensation and cyber cover sit beside the property form, and the gap between two of them is where an uncovered claim tends to hide. The four lines below each have a guide explaining what the policy covers, where its limits fall short and what a request for that line needs, and the other lines Alex places are listed after them.
You do not have to choose lines on the form. Name the property and the state, and the coverage conversation starts from what you carry now. If a lender, a franchise agreement or a management contract sets minimum limits for any of these lines, mention it early, because those terms decide which options can be used at all.

How your details are used
The form asks only for what a first reply needs: no tax numbers, no bank details and no copies of signed documents. What you send is used to answer your request. It is never sold, and it does not put you on a marketing list. Details go to insurance carriers only when you ask us to seek quotes, and only as much as a quote needs. There is no obligation, and no automated call sequence follows. The privacy policy for this website covers what is kept, for how long, and how to ask for it to be corrected or deleted.
Questions
Questions before you request a quote
How long does the quote request form take to fill in?
A few minutes. The six required fields are the property type, the state, the total insured value band, your name, your email and your phone number. The business name and the renewal date are optional, and both help a broker reply with the right questions.
Can I send a request before my documents are ready?
Yes. The form is enough on its own to start, and the declarations page, the schedule of values and the loss runs can follow. A request sent early, with a renewal date on it, gives the markets more time than a complete file sent late.
Does requesting a quote commit me to changing my insurance?
No. A request carries no obligation, and nothing changes on your current policy unless you decide to move it. If the quotes that come back do not improve on what you carry, the program you have stays as it is.
What affects the price of a commercial property quote?
Underwriters price the construction of the building, how it is occupied, the fire protection around it and the exposures next to it. Roof age, the loss history, the values on the schedule and the location's perils (hail, wind, wildfire or flood) come next, and so does the deductible you are willing to carry. A complete file lets each of those be priced on facts rather than assumptions.
What total insured value should I choose if I am not sure?
Choose the band closest to the total on your current declarations page, adding buildings, contents and business income together. If you have no figure, choose Not sure yet. The value is checked against rebuilding cost before the submission goes out, so the band only needs to be near.
Can one request cover more than one property?
Yes. Choose the class and state of the main location in the form, and a schedule listing the other buildings can follow in reply. Locations in several states can sit in one program, and each state's guide notes the terms that differ there.
